Deron Schmidt, 29, is autistic yet lives in his own house with a support person. His mother, Joan Schmidt, and friend, Kathi Campbell, started Creative Living Options, a business which helps mentally disabled people living independently. Once Schmidt started living in his own home with a support person, his aggressive behavior began to subside as he was able to make his own choices.
