Migrant workers wait to work in California

Faustino Farias, far right, crossed the U.S./Mexican border at 2 a.m., signed up for a job at 3 a.m., and waited to start hoeing lettuce until 7 a.m. when the moisture level was right. For none of the waiting hours was he paid. January 9, 2001.
